Get to know Puerto del Rosario

Puerto del Rosario is a town and municipality in the eastern part of Fuerteventura, in the province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. It has been the island's capital since 1860. The municipality stretches in a strip from the west coast to the east coast.

Its main settlements are Puerto del Rosario, El Matorral, Puerto Lajas, Tetir and Casillas del Ángel. Tetir and Casillas del Ángel were separate municipalities until 1925 and 1926.
