Get to know Fuengirola

Fuengirola is a town in the Costa del Sol Occidental comarca, in the province of Málaga, Andalusia. It split from Mijas in 1841, while still a small fishing village. Today it is a major resort with a large English-speaking community.

The municipality is tiny and almost entirely built up, stretched along a narrow strip of coast with beaches facing south-east. High-rise apartment blocks line the seafront, while narrow streets with low villas lie further back. The climate is subtropical Mediterranean, with hot summers.
