Águilas is a town and municipality in the Region of Murcia, in the Alto Guadalentín comarca, close to the border with the province of Almería. Its carnival has been declared a festival of International Tourist Interest.

The town faces the Mediterranean on the Gulf of Mazarrón, at the southern end of the Costa Cálida. It has a working port and a long stretch of beaches.
