Get to know Zumaia

Zumaia is a small town in the Basque Country, on the coast of the province of Gipuzkoa. It lies where the Urola and Narrondo rivers come together.

Its two beaches, Itzurun and Santiago, draw geologists because of the flysch rock strata. The town is also home to the Basque-style Gothic church of San Pedro and to the house-museum of the painter Ignacio Zuloaga. Its neighbourhoods include San Miguel de Artadi, Oikia and Narrondo.
