Get to know Yaiza

Yaiza is a municipality on Lanzarote, in the province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. The Atlantic surrounds it to the west, south and east, while Tinajo and Tías lie to the north. Tourism and farming are the main trades, and the area stands out on the island for its care of the landscape and traditional architecture.

Playa Blanca on the south coast is the largest town, while the council sits in the much smaller village of Yaiza. Uga, Las Breñas, Femés, El Golfo and Playa Quemada are among the other villages. Within its bounds are part of Timanfaya, Los Ajaches with the Papagayo beaches, Charco Verde and the Salinas del Janubio salt pans.
