Xinzo de Limia is a municipality in the comarca of A Limia, in the province of Ourense, Galicia. It lies in the fertile Antela valley and is a service town on the Autovía das Rías Baixas, a key stop on the Vigo-Madrid route. Its carnival is one of the most typical in Galicia, led by the pantalla, a figure that stands for the devil.

Besides the town itself, the municipality includes San Pedro de Laroá, Morgade, Ganade, Las Lamas, Laroá, A Pena and Parada de Ribeira. The Limia river runs through town, and the drained bed of Lake Antela, once Spain's largest freshwater lake, grows cereals, hay and above all potatoes. A celebration called Festa do Esquecemento recalls the legend of the Limia as a river of forgetting.
