Get to know Villa de Mazo

Villa de Mazo is a town and municipality on the island of La Palma, in the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. It lies in the southeast of the island, stretches from the summit of the Cumbre Vieja down to the sea, is 9 km from Santa Cruz de La Palma and has 5131 inhabitants (2025). La Palma Airport is on its coast.

The population is spread over fifteen neighbourhoods, with El Pueblo as the capital, followed by Lodero, Monte Breña, Callejones, La Rosa and Montes de Luna. The Cueva de Belmaco holds engravings left by the first inhabitants. Vine growing and crafts matter here, and Corpus Christi, with arches and natural carpets made by each neighbourhood, is a festival of National Tourist Interest.
