Vilaboa is a municipality in the comarca and province of Pontevedra, Galicia, on San Simón Cove in the Ría de Vigo. Its medieval Pontesampaio bridge over the Verdugo river lies on the Portuguese Coastal Way to Santiago. Next to it, the Battle of Pontesampaio against Napoleon's troops was fought in 1809.

The parishes of Vilaboa, Santo Adrán de Cobres, Santa Cristina de Cobres, Bértola and Figueirido are made up of many scattered hamlets, in the traditional Galician way. Cobres holds the Entroido dos Cobres carnival. The old sea salt pans of Ulló are now a haven for waterbirds.
