Get to know Vigo

Vigo is the most populous municipality in Galicia and the capital of the comarca of Vigo, in the province of Pontevedra. It sits on the southern shore of the Ría de Vigo, the southernmost of the Rías Baixas, close to the Portuguese border. Its port and the Stellantis Vigo plant make it one of the region's main economic hubs.

Vigo Centro, Lavadores, Castrelos, Cabral, Navia, Valladares, Corujo and San Andrés de Comesaña belong to the municipality. It also takes in the Cíes Islands, part of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park. The European Fisheries Control Agency has its headquarters here.
