El Remei is a neighborhood in the south of Vic, within the area known as Vic-Sud. Part of it, Carrer del Remei, is considered the historic core of the city. The Gothic bridge over the Mèder river was the entrance to Vic from Barcelona in 1274.

The Remei church, which gives the neighborhood its name, was built as a convent in 1685. It is one of the most densely populated parts of the city and has welcomed many immigrant families, especially since the nineties.
