Get to know Vera

Vera is a municipality in the east of the Levante Almeriense area, in the province of Almería. It is one of the main shopping centres of the region, with a busy traditional core and stores along the ring road. Its neighbours are Cuevas del Almanzora, Antas, Los Gallardos, Turre, Mojácar and Garrucha.

The town itself lies about 10 km inland, while the municipality stretches to the shore. On the coast is Vera Playa, an important naturist village since 1990, along with some seven kilometres of Blue Flag beaches. Near the shore lies the Puerto Rey lagoon, a nature reserve.
