Get to know Vélez-Blanco

Vélez-Blanco is a municipality in the province of Almería, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It lies in the northeastern part of the comarca of Los Vélez and is the northernmost in the province. It borders Vélez-Rubio, María, La Puebla de Don Fadrique, Caravaca de la Cruz and Lorca.

It stands at an altitude of 1070 metres. It has a sixteenth-century castle, the church of Santiago and the convent of San Luis. The Cueva de los Letreros holds the Brujo, a rock painting, and was declared a National Historic Monument in 1924.
