Get to know Valls

Valls is the capital of the Alt Camp comarca, in the province of Tarragona, within the Camp de Tarragona area. It is known for calçots, the sweet green onions eaten at a calçotada, and for its two castells teams, the Colla Vella and the Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls. The Catalan Human Tower Museum is being built in the city.

The city stands on the Francolí River and includes Picamoixons. Neighbourhoods include Bon Sol, el Fornàs, Sant Josep Obrer, Mas Clariana, Provença, les Comarques, Santa Gemma and Santa Magdalena. In the centre are the church of Sant Joan and the Capella del Roser, with its tiled mosaic of the Battle of Lepanto.
