Get to know la Fuensanta

La Fontsanta is a neighbourhood of Valencia in the Olivereta district, at the western edge of the city. It forms an L and borders La Llum to the north-west, Tres Forques to the east, Soternes to the north, the Vara de Quart industrial estate to the south and Xirivella to the west. It had 3,562 inhabitants in 2020.

It was built to rehouse people who lost their homes in the 1957 flood. Its four-storey buildings are narrow, so the square flats have two opposite sides facing the street and get plenty of daylight, and there are gardens between the blocks. The Gran Turia shopping centre, though in Xirivella, is important to the neighbourhood.
