Ciutat Vella is District 1 of the city of Valencia, in the Valencian autonomous community. It holds the political, administrative, financial, religious and cultural centre of the city. Its origin goes back to the Roman founding.

It has six neighbourhoods: La Seu, La Xerea, El Carme, El Pilar, El Mercat and Sant Francesc. Its boundaries almost exactly follow the former Christian wall of Valencia.
