Get to know el Mercat

El Mercat is one of the six neighborhoods of the Ciutat Vella district in Valencia, in the province of Valencia and the Valencian Community. It sits in the very center of the city and the district, and was historically its busiest commercial area, although San Francisco now surpasses it.

It borders El Carmen to the north, La Seu to the northeast, San Francisco to the south and El Pilar to the west. Its name comes from the Central Market, which stands in the neighborhood.
