Campanar is district number 4 of the city of Valencia, in the comarca of Valencia. Its origin lies in a group of Moorish farmhouses from the thirteenth century, which James I recovered after conquering Valencia.
It was joined to Valencia in 1897, when it absorbed the municipality of Campanar. It is a municipal district of the Valencian capital, and its parts are Sant Pau, Campanar, Les Tendetes and El Calvari.
