Get to know Tres Cantos

Tres Cantos is a municipality in the Community of Madrid, north of the capital along the M-607 motorway. It was planned in the 1970s as a satellite city of Madrid and split from Colmenar Viejo in 1991, which makes it the youngest municipality in the region. Many companies have their Spanish headquarters here, alongside a CSIC research centre.

The city is laid out in phases and sectors, many of them with pedestrian spaces inside, plus the newer Nuevo Tres Cantos. Street names follow their sector: in Sector Océanos, the five streets are named after the five oceans. Parks and green areas are everywhere, and the Soto de Viñuelas estate also lies within the municipality.
