Get to know Torremolinos

Torremolinos is a municipality in the Costa del Sol Occidental comarca, in the province of Málaga, just west of the city of Málaga. A poor fishing village until the late 1950s, it became the first Costa del Sol resort to be developed. It split from Málaga and became a municipality of its own in 1988.

The town lies on the western shore of the Bay of Málaga, with the Sierra de Mijas behind it. Its long beach has a lit promenade, cycle and skating lanes and plenty of chiringuitos. The A-7 motorway bypasses the town to the north, and Cercanías commuter trains serve it.
