Toro is a municipality and town in the province of Zamora, in Castilla y León. It lies in the southeast of the province, in the heart of the Duero valley, and has 8336 inhabitants in 2025.
It was a royal seat and a meeting place of the Cortes, and its old town holds monumental gems such as the Colegiata de Santa María la Mayor. Besides Toro itself, the municipality includes Tagarabuena, El Gejo and other smaller settlements, and it is the largest in the province by area.
