Get to know Tordera

Tordera is a town in the Maresme comarca, province of Barcelona, Catalonia, on the border with the comarca of La Selva. It covers more ground than any other municipality in the Maresme, even the capital, Mataró. Its historic core grew up in a valley beside the Tordera River, and the Romanesque church of Saint Stephen stands in the centre.

Neighbourhoods and housing estates such as Sant Daniel, Can Domènech, Sant Pere de Riu, Hortsavinyà, Roca-rossa, Terrabrava and Tordera Parc are spread across the municipality. Every Sunday a weekly market draws thousands of people. The town sits on the edge of the Montnegre natural park, and the GR 92 coastal footpath has a stage point here.
