Teruel · 1 min walk
Teruel, the least populated provincial capital in Spain, is Aragon's town of Mudéjar architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Teruel is the capital of Teruel Province, in the south of Aragon, eastern Spain. It stands where the Alfambra meets the Guadalaviar, which flows on as the Turia. The climate is harsh, with cold winters and warm dry summers, and the town is famous for its cured ham and its pottery.
The cathedral of Santa María and the towers of El Salvador, San Martín and San Pedro are the highlights of its Mudéjar heritage. The mausoleum of the Lovers of Teruel and the Dinópolis palaeontology park draw visitors, and a motorway links the city with Zaragoza and Sagunto. In July comes La Vaquilla del Ángel, and in February the Bodas de Isabel de Segura.
