Get to know Teguise

Teguise is a municipality in the central part of Lanzarote, in the province of Las Palmas, Canary Islands, between Arrecife and Haría. Its seat, the town of Teguise, was the island's capital until Arrecife took over, and it remains Lanzarote's church capital. Since 2019 it has been listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of Spain.

The municipality stretches from the east coast to the west and includes La Graciosa, with Caleta del Sebo, plus Alegranza, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste. The artist and architect César Manrique was born in the area.
