Tabernas is a town and municipality in the province of Almería, in Andalusia, in the comarca of Los Filabres-Tabernas. It stands on the edge of the Tabernas Desert, a filming location of many films and TV series.
It is one of the driest towns in Europe. The film sets of Fort Bravo, Western Leone and Mini Hollywood are nearby, and the town hosts the Almería Western Film Festival every year. It is also home to the Plataforma Solar de Almería, a solar thermal energy research centre.
