Los Remedios is one of the eleven districts of Seville, in the south-west of the city. It occupies La Cartuja island, south of Triana, between two arms of the Guadalquivir.
It takes its name from a Carmelite convent with the same name that once stood in the area. The Port of Seville has been here since silting forced it to move from the El Arenal neighbourhood.
