Get to know Segovia
Segovia is the capital of the province of Segovia in Castile and León. Its aqueduct is considered the most important work of Roman civil engineering in Spain, and together with the old city it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. The cathedral, one of the last Gothic cathedrals built in Europe, and the Alcázar fortress complete its three great landmarks.
The city sits on a bend of the Eresma where it meets the Ciguiñuela and the Clamores, at the foot of the Sierra de Guadarrama. Besides the main town, the municipality includes the villages of Madrona, Fuentemilanos, Hontoria and Zamarramala.
