Get to know Santurce

Santurtzi is a port city in the province of Biscay, in the Basque Country, and part of the Bilbao metropolitan area. It lies on the Abra bay near the mouth of the Nervión, downriver from Bilbao. Its neighbours are Ortuella, Portugalete and Abanto-Zierbena.

Mount Serantes rises above the town, and the rest of the ground is hilly without high peaks. The climate is humid oceanic, with mild winters and summers that rarely get too hot. The Santurce district of San Juan in Puerto Rico takes its name from the town.
