Get to know Raval

El Raval is a neighbourhood of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, built on the north and east slopes of the Serra d'en Mena, in District V. It lies between Safaretjos, Santa Rosa, Llefià (Badalona) and Bon Pastor (Barcelona).

The neighbourhood began to take shape in 1854 and was built up without planning after the migration wave of the fifties. It has the Hospital de l'Esperit Sant, the most important in the city, a sports pavilion, civic centres and the Can Peixauet library, as well as the Molinet, Pins and Besòs riverside parks. Since 2011 the metro reaches the neighbourhood at Can Peixauet station on line L9.
