Get to know Sant Feliu de Guíxols

Sant Feliu de Guíxols is a town in the comarca of Baix Empordà, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, on the Mediterranean shore. It is an important port and tourist centre, with cork as its traditional local industry. A large monastery, now a protected historic monument, houses the town museum.

To the north it borders S'Agaró, an upmarket resort built around Sant Pol Beach. One coast road runs north to Platja d'Aro and Palamós, while a dramatic cliff-top drive heads south to Tossa de Mar. The town is also a stage point on the GR long-distance footpath along Spain's Mediterranean coast.
