Sant Cugat del Vallès is a municipality in the Vallès Occidental comarca, in the province of Barcelona. It is the third most populous town in the comarca after Terrassa and Sabadell. Its name honours Saint Cucuphas, said to have been martyred where its medieval monastery now stands.
The town spreads over the northwestern slopes of the Collserola hills. Besides the centre, it includes Valldoreix and the districts of Mira-sol, la Floresta, Volpelleres and les Planes. The Benedictine monastery of Sant Cugat is known for its cloister and rose window.
