Get to know San Sebastián

San Sebastián, Donostia in Basque, is the capital of the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country. Its French-style expansion in the second half of the nineteenth century turned it into a tourist destination on a European scale. The San Sebastián International Film Festival, the Jazz Festival and the Quincena Musical give the city an international profile.

The city curves around La Concha bay, and Santa Clara island is part of the municipality too. It is divided into areas such as Centro, Este, Oeste, Ipar-Ekialdea and Landarbaso. San Sebastián is also part of the Basque Eurocity Bayonne-San Sebastián.
