Get to know San Miguel de Abona

San Miguel de Abona is a town and municipality in the south of Tenerife, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. Its old centre, at about 580 metres, was listed as a historic ensemble in 2013, and its guachinche taverns serve local produce. With Arona and Adeje it forms the Tenerife Sur metropolitan area.

The short, partly steep coastline has small volcanic-sand beaches and the golf resorts of Golf del Sur and Amarilla Golf. Viewpoints such as La Centinela and El Frontón look out over the town and neighbouring Arona and Granadilla de Abona. Higher up, the summits turn rugged and are dotted with volcanic cones.
