Get to know San Javier

San Javier is a town in the Region of Murcia, in the Campo de Cartagena y Mar Menor comarca, at the northern end of the Costa Cálida. Its coastline runs along the Mar Menor and the open Mediterranean, and the population swells considerably in summer. The General Air and Space Academy and the facilities of the former San Javier airport are located here.

Besides San Javier itself, the municipality covers Santiago de la Ribera, Roda, El Mirador, Colonia Julio Ruiz de Alda, Pozo Aledo, Tarquinales and La Grajuela, plus the central and northern part of La Manga del Mar Menor. The town sits beside the N-332 road and the AP-7 motorway.
