Get to know Salobreña

Salobreña is a town on the Costa Granadina, in the province of Granada, on the Mediterranean between Motril and Almuñécar. Its old town sits on a rocky prominence crowned by a Moorish castle, with whitewashed houses and steep narrow streets.

New developments spread from the foot of the old town down to the beach, and sugarcane fields surround almost the whole town. El Peñón, the rock that juts into the sea, divides Playa La Guardia from Playa de la Charca. The municipality also holds Lobres, La Caleta and La Guardia, and the Guadalfeo river reaches the sea within its limits.
