Get to know Sallent de Gállego

Sallent de Gállego, Sallent de Galligo in Aragonese, is a municipality in the province of Huesca, in Aragon, in the Alto Gállego comarca. It lies beside the Lanuza reservoir, at the foot of some of the highest summits of the range and close to the border with France. It is the capital of the Tena Valley.

The Formigal ski resort sits within its boundaries. Portalet d'Aneu, Lanuza, Escarrilla, Tramacastilla and Sandiniés belong to the municipality too. The village has an early sixteenth-century Gothic church with a plateresque altarpiece, and the Pyrenean Glaciers natural monument covers part of its land.
