Get to know Ribagorza

Ribagorza is a comarca in the north-east of the province of Huesca, Aragon, bordering France to the north and Catalonia to the east. Its administrative capital is Graus, while the historical capital of the old county was Benabarre. It roughly matches the Aragonese part of the medieval County of Ribagorza, and in the eastern part, close to Catalonia, the local language is a variety of Catalan.

The Ésera, Isábena and Noguera Ribagorzana rivers run through it. Aneto, the highest peak of the Pyrenees, rises here, and Cerler has the highest ski resort in the Aragonese Pyrenees. Its municipalities include Graus, Benasque, Benabarre, Castejón de Sos, Campo, La Puebla de Castro, Capella and Sahún.
