Ribadavia is a municipality in the west of the province of Ourense, in Galicia, and the capital of the comarca of O Ribeiro. Its urban area lies on the right bank of the Miño and the last stretch of the Avia river. The population is 4895 (2025).

The old quarter, declared a historic-artistic ensemble in 1947, keeps the Praza Maior, with a sixteenth-century town hall, and the ruins of the Sarmiento castle. Buildings of the former Jewish quarter remain too, including a synagogue. Vines have shaped life here since the twelfth century, and the wine is sold under the Ribeiro designation of origin.
