Get to know Rianxo

Rianxo is a port town and municipality in the south of the province of A Coruña, in the comarca of Barbanza, in Galicia. It borders Lousame and Rois to the north, Boiro to the west, Dodro and Catoira to the east across the bridge over the Ulla river, and the Arousa estuary to the south. Castelao, one of the great figures of Galician literature and thought, was born here.

The municipality is spread over traditional parishes and takes in Rianxo, Taragoña, Asados, Araño, Leiro and Isorna. Araño has one of the longest hórreos in Galicia. Fishing and tourism tied to the estuary shape daily life.
