Get to know Premià de Mar

Premià de Mar is a municipality in the province of Barcelona and the second most populous town of the Maresme after Mataró. It sits on the coast between El Masnou and Vilassar de Mar and borders Premià de Dalt. The Barcelona-Mataró line, the first railway built on the Iberian Peninsula, runs through it.

The town centre mixes neoclassical, modernista and noucentista buildings. The church of Sant Cristòfol has a baroque doorway with maritime motifs. There are two municipal museums, two theatres and a library, and the main town festival takes place in July.
