Potes is a municipality in the autonomous community of Cantabria. It is the capital of the Liébana comarca and had 1323 inhabitants in 2025.

It borders Cillorigo de Liébana to the north, Camaleño to the west, Vega de Liébana to the south and Cabezón de Liébana to the east. The Deva and Quiviesa rivers join in the town, and its stone and wooden houses give it a medieval feel. It belongs to the association Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España.
