Pontedeume is a municipality in the province of A Coruña, in Galicia, in the comarca of Eume. It lies between La Coruña, 38 km away, and Ferrol, 18 km away, and near Betanzos. Alfonso X the Wise founded it in 1270, and it keeps its historic centre, with arcades, houses with wooden balconies and glass galleries.

The Eume River flows through the town and empties into the Atlantic Ocean, where it forms the estuary. The English Way of the Camino de Santiago passes through, and one of the gateways to the Fragas do Eume natural park is here. The municipality takes in Puentedeume, Noguerosa, Villar, Boebre, Ombre, Centroña, Andrade and Breamo.
