Pontecesures is a municipality in the comarca of Caldas, in the north of the province of Pontevedra, in Galicia. It used to be a parish of the municipality of Valga.

It grew up beside a Roman bridge over the Ulla river, on its left bank, as far as the river is navigable. Its port was once very important, and today it is the smallest municipality in Spain by area. It has the parish of San Xulián de Requeixo.
