Ponteceso is a coastal municipality in the province of A Coruña, in Galicia. It belongs to the Bergantiños comarca and lies by the Corme and Laxe estuary. Until the end of the nineteenth century it was known as Bugalleira.

It borders Cabana de Bergantiños, Carballo, Coristanco and Malpica de Bergantiños. It is made up of Tella, Corme-Puerto, Cospindo, Cores, Pazos, Jornes, Corme-Aldea and Tallo. The town centre of Ponteceso lies in the parish of San Tirso de Cospindo.
