Piera is a municipality in the province of Barcelona that covers much of the southeastern corner of the comarca of Anoia. It sits on the left bank of the Anoia river and borders Alt Penedès to the south. Its mostly unirrigated farmland grows cereals, grapes, olives and almonds.

The FGC R6 line from Martorell and Barcelona to Igualada runs through the town. Landmarks include the castle of Fontanet and the modernist church of Ca n'Aguilera, designed by Gaudí's disciple Francesc Berenguer. The church of Santa Maria has both Gothic and Roman elements.
