Get to know Picassent

Picassent is a municipality in the comarca of Horta Sud, in the southern part of the Valencia metropolitan area. Farming was once its main activity, and two industrial areas now sit next to the town centre. Its metro station links it with Valencia in about half an hour.

Neighbourhoods grew up around three churches and squares: San Cristóbal by the town hall, the Milagrosa by the market and the Vallivana hermitage. July brings the San Cristóbal festival with a week of bous al carrer, and September honours the Virgen de la Vallivana. The wide countryside, one of the largest in the comarca, is planted with orange trees.
