Petra is a town and municipality in the Pla de Mallorca, on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. Its name means rock in Latin, and it is the birthplace of Friar Junípero Serra, the Franciscan who founded the first Spanish missions in California.

The seat of the Mancomunitat del Pla de Mallorca is here. The municipality borders Vilafranca de Bonany, Sant Joan, Sineu, Ariany, Santa Margalida, Artà, Sant Llorenç des Cardassar and Manacor.
