Peralada is a village in the comarca of Alt Empordà, in the province of Girona, Catalonia. It was the home of the Frankish Counts of Peralada, who controlled this part of the Marca Hispanica before it passed to the Count of Barcelona. The municipality also includes the hamlet of Vilanova de la Muga.

Since 1987 the town has hosted the Festival Internacional de Música Castell de Peralada, focused on lyrical productions and operas. Figueres lies to the west and Roses to the southeast, and the N-260 connects Figueres with Portbou and the French border. The local economy is based on tourism, winemaking and dairy farming.
