Get to know Ortigueira

Ortigueira is a town and municipality in the province of A Coruña, in Galicia, in the comarca of Ortegal. It lies on the northern slope of the Serra da Faladoira, by the river Mera and on the eastern shore of the Ría de Santa Marta. The ría opens between Capes Ortegal and Bares, the northernmost headlands of the Peninsula.

The municipality includes Ortigueira, Espasante, San Claudio, Senra, Loiba, Veiga, Luhia and Cuíña. It is a seaport noted for its romantic surroundings and sea bathing.
