Ontinyent, Onteniente in Spanish, is a town in the south of the province of Valencia and the capital of the Vall d'Albaida comarca. Its historic centre has Baroque churches, aristocratic mansions, city walls, the palace of the Dukes of Almodòver and a bridge from the sixteenth century. The town has long been known for cloth, paper, brandy, furniture and earthenware.

Ontinyent lies on the Clarià, a tributary of the Xúquer, and on the railway between Xàtiva and Alcoi. The Serra de Mariola Natural Park is close by.
