Olèrdola is a municipality in the province of Barcelona, in the Alt Penedès comarca, with its capital at Sant Miquel d'Olèrdola. Its name comes from the ancient city of Olèrdola, the historic capital of the Penedès, which stood on the hill of Sant Miquel.

It is among the Penedès municipalities with the greatest historical and archaeological weight. Since prehistory, Iberians, Romans and Christians have occupied the rocky platform of the hill, which watches over the Penedès plain and is defended by cliffs. It lies on the northern side of the Garraf massif, and its highest point is the Puig de l'Àliga.
